SAS is the professional certification in the craft of situational awareness — a dedicated, disciplined study of how to read people, places and patterns, and apply that reading in a real operational setting. Students learn to recognize the cues that precede trouble, judge what they mean, and act earlier and calmer because of it. Situation Awareness Specialist® – Advanced Practitioner (SAS-AP / STAS-AP)

SAS-AP is the advanced practitioner certification in situational awareness — the deeper, more demanding study for experienced practitioners who already read people, places and patterns well, and need to read them better. Students work at the level of methodology and judgment: finer discrimination between signal and noise, harder scenarios, and decisions that have to hold up when the pressure is real.
Applied Verbal De-Escalation Specialist™ (AVDE-S)

De-escalation employs verbal and nonverbal techniques to better manage a situation without having to potentially engage in a physical altercation — the act, or art, of “talking someone down” during a disruptive or potentially violent encounter, done properly and early. AVDE-S turns that art into a discipline: a behavioral-science program built on the Behavioral Change Stairway, active listening, and empathy-driven rapport. Students learn to spot the earliest signs of rising tension, use voice and tone as their first tool, and guide an encounter step by step back to calm.
Advanced Applied Verbal De-Escalation – Specialist (Advanced AVDE-S)

The advanced course for professionals who already de-escalate. Five specialist modules build to a capstone practicum of live role-play scenarios, scored across six dimensions — verbal control, emotional regulation, behavioral cue recognition, tactical pacing, scenario success and professional demeanor — against a defined pass standard.
Physical Surveillance & Surveillance Detection

Surveillance is the adversary’s rehearsal. This course teaches students to run it — and to defeat it. From a trained adversarial perspective, students conduct foot and mobile surveillance operations, then apply the same tradecraft to detection: identifying threats early, preventing security breaches, and protecting assets and personnel. This course is taught by US Counterintelligence Agents — a tier 1 training experience.
